The creator and subscribers of the “Vagina Monologues” group on VKontakte were called to the police

In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the creator and two subscribers of the Vagina Monologues group on Vkontakte were called to the police. This was announced to OVD-Info by the creator of the group, Yulia Tsvetkova.

Local police gave one of the subscribers a subpoena, which did not indicate a specific reason for visiting the department, and only specified that they were "processing a complaint with social networks." According to Tsvetkova, directly in the department, the subscriber was asked about the “Vagina Monologues” group, “whether propaganda or distribution of pornography is being carried out there.” Later, Tsvetkova was informed about another subscriber, who was interviewed by the police for the same reason.

Tsvetkova herself was also interviewed by law enforcement officers. The reason for the summons to the department was given by the security forces as a statement written by Timur Bulatov, who, according to Tsvetkova, is known for his homophobic position. The creator of The Vagina Monologues was questioned by the police about LGBT, feminism and pornography, without any specific charges. The police limited themselves to such a statement: “The more events you do, the more statements will be written against you, and we just do our job.”

Tsvetkova believes that the persecution by the police is connected with the "near-political" events that she organizes in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The girl had previously been called to the police. The first time after a lecture about the Gulag, the second after a lecture about the history of the anti-war movement.
