The funeral service takes place in the Church of the Supreme Apostles Peter and Paul. Police squads and volunteers with mourning bands are on duty around the perimeter of the temple. Free buses to the farewell site have been organized for citizens.

Let us remind you that the girl disappeared on October 9. Early in the morning she went to school, but did not show up there. The police and volunteers of the Lisa Alert detachment were searching for her. On the night of October 11, the girl was found dead. A 35-year-old local resident, Mikhail Tuvatin, who had previously been convicted, was detained on suspicion of murder. He has outstanding convictions for rape, robbery and “sexual assault.”

Tuvatin confessed to killing the girl. He said that he voluntarily occupied an ownerless garage and installed a new lock there. Lisa, passing by, allegedly asked the man if this garage was his. Tuvatin, according to him, was afraid of exposure, dragged the girl inside and killed her.

On October 12, the court arrested Tuvatin, according to the website of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Saratov Region. The selection of a preventive measure took place behind closed doors in the city of Engels, near Saratov, to ensure the safety of the participants in the process.

The high-profile murder of a nine-year-old girl in Saratov sparked discussions in Russian society about the return of the death penalty.
