Holy Martyr Alexy Speransky

The persecution of Soviet power to the Russian Church was such that it was not to say about their faith, but even silently follow it as a feat. The new martyrs and confessors, glorified in the face of the saints did not come: believed, prayed and meekly went to their Calvarys.

“Polit.ru” recalls those who gave their lives for faith and by whose prayers the Russian Church is alive - even if almost nothing came to us besides the name.

Alexey Speransky is the son of a priest of the village of Mineevo Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow province. After graduating in 1899, 18-year-old Alexei became a teacher of parish school. In 1902, he was determined by the psalmist in the Borisoglebsky temple in the village of Zyuzino, Moscow district, and in 1909 he was transferred to the Virgin-Khotostrensky Church with a craft almshouse in the city of Moscow.

In 1917, Alexei Speransky was ordained a priest to the Assumption Church of the village of The Theologian of the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province, where his elderly father served at that time, and was appointed to the position of law teacher in the Balkov Zemstvo school. In 1920, Father Alexy was awarded a naughty man, in 1923, Bishop of Bogorodsky, the Vicar of the Moscow Diocese, Plato (Rudnev) awarded him Skufeya. In the village of Theology, Father Alexy served the rest of his life.

The authorities pursued the priest and since 1929 they began to fine him. In the mid -thirties, Father Alexy, leaving no service in the temple, got a job on the collective farm for a blacksmith. When they came to the forge with requests to be bought, to stir or take it, he took off the apron and went to make treas. But on Saturdays and Sundays, he incompetitively performed services in the church and during worship always spoke sermons.

On November 25, 1937, the authorities ordered the arrest of the priest. The formal basis for the arrest was his words retold by someone: "Orthodox, it is necessary to strengthen faith in God, more often to visit the temple of God and others who succumbed to bad influence, to attract to the church." Father Alexy was arrested on charges of anti -Soviet activity and imprisoned in the Noginsk prison. The priest did not find himself guilty.

On December 1, the Troika of the NKVD sentenced Father Alexy to death. The priest Alexy Speransky was shot on December 10, 1937 and buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo training ground.
