The VIII International Cultural Forum was decided to warm up with a scandal, including a project for the demolition of historical St. Petersburg in the agenda

The news under the heading “Demonial project for the historical center of St. Petersburg will be considered at the International Cultural Forum” appeared on the ICF website in mid-September. It was reported that the project will be presented by Vladimir Shukhov, recommended by the chairman of the Russian branch of the International Working Group for Documentation and Preservation of the Modern Movement (Docomomo). And then the "expert community will vote for or against demolition and prepare a resolution with proposals."

Then, a few interviews with Shukhov, where he developed his theses, was published in the pro -government city media.

The publication of the great -granddaughter of V. G. Shukhov, the researcher of his heritage by Elena Shukhova, indignant a note under the heading “Demolving the Historical Center of St. Petersburg, proposed the great -grandson of the famous engineer” to the fire.

“It is difficult to imagine something more absurd and wretched than this statement,” wrote Elena Maksimovna. - Even more wildly it sounds from the lips of a person represented as the great -grandson of the great Russian engineer. Referring to historical, archival data and photo documents, Elena Shukhova presented her version of the appearance of the “impostor”, leading his origin from the namesake of the great engineer, who was familiar to him by the railway and party figure Vladimir Vladimirovich Shukhov, who rose to the deputy-brim of the routes, and was repressed in 1928. He had a son, Fedor Vladimirovich Shukhov, who, from the late 1970s, began to declare himself as the grandson of V. G. Shukhov. As Elena Maksimovna emphasizes, after the death of Fedor Vladimirovich, the Moscow City Council refused his burial in the grave of V. G. Shukhov, despite the petition collected by the family, since it was not possible to submit any documentary evidence of kinship.

Elena Shukhova spoke about the dubious “relative” publicly back in 2014, in the midst of the battalion for the preservation of the Shukhov tower: “I was silent for a long time because I thought that the person was active, maybe his activity would benefit the tower. But now I see that just his activity basically led to the tragic situation in which the tower was now. ” Vladimir Shukhov himself now puts a disappointing diagnosis to the main object of the guardianship of his fund: “And with the tower there is even better history. You do not flatter yourself, it is worth it, but it will most likely fall apart. ”

At the same time, the fund still calls through its site: “Surround to save the Shukhov tower!” Information about how much it was possible to collect and what was spent on is not submitted.

In a conversation with the New in St. Petersburg, Vladimir Shukhov assured that over the past 16 years, "the maximum, how much they gave us, - 50 thousand rubles." It is high aesthetic qualities and the degree of preservation of the historical environment that ensure the special investment attractiveness of St. Petersburg and its real commercial value, serve as the key to the welfare of citizens.” And you want to put our strategic resource to dust! I am interested in whether the interlocutor knows what the “outstanding universal value” of historical St. Petersburg is, thanks to which he was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List of the World Heritage List.

- This is an outdated performance. And the decisions should make young people from 12 years old. Who is more than 40 is already a museum, the psychology of the old generation. I think we must start a bold experiment, start with St. Petersburg.

It became creepy. And it is interesting whether Docomo colleagues share, for example, Natalya Dushkina, who was shocked by Shukhov, the approach to the “reincarnation” of St. Petersburg, whether they know about his “program” at all.

Noticing that during our almost two -hour conversation, Vladimir Fedorovich showed complete ignorance of the problems of St. Petersburg, I ask - how can he speak at the forum?

“I'm not going to prepare seriously,” Shukhov admits innocently. - And I do not want to dive into your problems. I'm just a moderator.

- But the moderator can act in one of two conditional roles: a delicious assistant, who directs the discussion in a constructive channel, or a provocateur who seeks to arrange a show. You obviously chose the role of the provocateur.

When asked who suggested that he become a moderator (and not only: in the second day of the Shukhov discussion, he was listed as a speaker), answered evasively-they say, it is reasonable to assume that the speakers are selected by the head of the section, and the Service of the Cultural Heritage is headed by Vasily Pankratov (ex-head of the City Committee on Culture, and now the director of the Gatchina Museum-Enterprise). Although another participant in this discussion, the head of the Center for Expertise, ECM Alexander Karpov, said that he himself was recorded in the speakers on the proposal of KGIOP. It is noteworthy that the program on the MKF website says: after the presentation of the demolition project of the historical center of St. Petersburg, the Polar Point of Vytrus, will present the chairman of the KGIOP Sergey Makarov. Which “considers Petersburg to the city of the future, and in the form in which it exists today,” “however, advocates a change in legislation, which today does not allow you to attract investors.”

Sergei Makarov has not been the first year to initiate amendments to the legislation aimed just to maintain business interests by weakening the protection of heritage. And it seems that the head of the KGIOP is very on his hand at his heating Shukhov - after such horror stories, surgical recommendations from Makarov will seem to be a cosmetic procedure.
