Previously, a man convicted for a picture with Pushkin and Tesak was awarded 200 thousand rubles

On October 17, the Zelenogradsky District Court ordered the Ministry of Finance to pay 200 thousand rubles in compensation to Yevgeny Kort, who was accused of extremism for publishing a picture with Pushkin and Tesak on VKontakte. Earlier, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit demanding to deprive Kort of the right to rehabilitation and change the decision to dismiss the case. The court refused to do so.

In 2016, the court found Kort guilty of inciting hatred or enmity (Article 282 of the Criminal Code) because of a picture in which a man who looked like Tesak attacked a man who looked like Pushkin. The man was sentenced to a year in a colony-settlement, but the appeal court replaced the imprisonment with a fine of 200 thousand rubles.

In December 2018, the Presidium of the Moscow City Court overturned Kort's sentence and returned his case for a new trial to the Zelenograd court. Before that, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court Vladimir Davydov, in his decision to transfer the complaint to the Moscow City Court, emphasized that there was no evidence in the verdict that Yevgeny Kort acted with direct intent to humiliate the dignity of a group of people on a national basis, and the guilty verdict cannot be "based on assumptions."
