The Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended the arrest of the defendant in the “Moscow case” Nikita Chirtsov until January 27, 2020. Mediazona reports this.
Demanding to extend the arrest in the pre-trial detention center, the investigator referred to the fact that the accused could hide from the investigation, allegedly he had already done this when he left for Minsk. Although, as lawyer Alexander Borkov noted: “Nikita left for Belarus long before the case was initiated. He did not know about the criminal case and could not know.”
The prosecutor referred to the fact that Chirtsov is registered in the Perm region, and this is far from the place of investigative actions.
Chirtsov is accused of using violence not dangerous to health against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he deliberately pushed a police officer in the chest with both hands at the rally on July 27.
