The Novokuibyshevsk City Court found Mikhail Abalkin guilty under the article on repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and fined him 150,000 rubles. This is reported by the publication “Idel. Realities".
The court considered that Mikhail Abalkin, the first secretary of the Novokuibyshev city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, violated the federal law on public events (FZ-54). Abalkin was accused of allegedly being on October 3 at the picket “For Decent Medicine!” without the insignia of the organizer. However, the law does not specify what this sign should look like, and Mikhail Abalkin does not agree with the court ruling:
- This is an arbitrariness of the party in power in order to prevent me from collecting the documents necessary to apply for the competition for the election of the head of the city, which will be held from October 8 to November 11. I will appeal against the decision on the fine in the Samara Regional Court,” Abalkin said.
