“On June 30, 2019, a minor (born in 2002) quarreled with his girlfriend and decided to commit suicide because of unrequited love,” the regional prosecutor’s office said on October 22. “The teenager thought that his guardian, a 70-year-old grandmother, would be worried about what happened to him and therefore decided to kill her.”
According to investigators, the young man inflicted at least 21 blows to the pensioner with a knife, as well as four blows with a blunt object. The woman died on the spot.
Then the teenager drove towards the Bugrinsky bridge. He failed to commit suicide because he was rescued.
The young man was charged under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The criminal case was transferred to the Kirovsky District Court of Novosibirsk. A minor faces up to 15 years.
The teenager was registered with the guardianship authorities of the Kirovsky district. The prosecutor's office found violations of the law and submitted a proposal to the head of the district administration, which was satisfied.
