Investigative actions in the case of Nikita Chirtsov, accused in connection with the July 27 action, have been completed

Investigative actions have been completed in the case of Nikita Chirtsov, accused of using non-life-threatening violence against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) at the rally on July 27. This was reported by lawyer Alexander Borkov, representing Chirtsov from OVD-Info.

Investigative actions were completed on October 21. Chirtsov, who is in a pre-trial detention center, managed to get acquainted with 1.5 volumes of the case in a few hours: now the main part of the case materials is not a description of his actions, but procedural documents - requests, characteristics, decisions to extend deadlines.

According to the lawyer, the case will very quickly be transferred to the Presnensky District Court. Already next week, the investigator’s indictment will be approved by the prosecutor, Chirtsov will familiarize himself with it, after which the case materials will be sent to the court. The territory where, according to investigators, Chirtsov pushed a policeman in the chest with both hands falls under the jurisdiction of the Presnensky Court.

• Chirtsov was detained on August 28 in Minsk. According to Belarusian police officers, the young man was put on the wanted list in Russia in connection with his participation in the July 27 rally.
• On July 27, protests took place in Moscow in support of independent candidates in the Moscow City Duma elections, during which, according to OVD-Info, 1,373 people were detained . Three days after the action, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for mass riots.
