The wife of the head of the mine on the Seiba River Andrei Eganov Snezhana told what she knew about the tragedy that occurred on October 19, and how gold miners actually work and live in Siberia. She accused the regional authorities and the federal media of distorting information.

Snezhana Eganova gave an interview to Krasnews. Eganova, citing her husband’s words, said that her husband, along with several colleagues, pulled out 15 dead.

“In his memory, it was printed that many were sitting and watching his car flying from the shore to the bathhouse, where they warmed up surviving people. I received an SMS that if not for Eganov Alexei Petrovich, there would be more corpses - 30–40 people. He was on the site, saving people to the last, ”says Snezhana Eganova.

On October 19, on the territory of the gold mining mine near the village of Shchetinkino, the Kuraginsky district broke through the technological dam on the Seiba River, after which the working dormitories were flooded. As a result of the incident, 17 people were killed, three are missing.

"

The criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules for conducting work, which entailed by negligence the death of two or more persons). The court, at the request of the investigation, arrested the head of the site of the artel Andrei Eganov for two months, who pleaded guilty, as well as the director of Sisim LLC, Maxim Kovalkov and the master of the mountain station Yevgeny Alexandrov, who deny the accusations.
