Dmitry Kiselev heads the Union of Winemakers of Russia

TV presenter, CEO of MIA "Russia Today" Dmitry Kiselev was elected Chairman of the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia . This decision was unanimously adopted at the annual meeting of the organization, RIA Novosti writes.

"In the context of creating an industry on new principles, this is a very important matter for me. The idea is a continuation of the line of Prince Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn - to offer Russia and the world, as the prince said, "pure wine" from our vineyards," Kiselev said.

His predecessor as head of the union, Boris Titov, a Russian business ombudsman whose family owns Russia's largest wine house, Abrau-Durso, said he had submitted his own resignation. "Dmitry Konstantinovich Kiselev is a winemaker himself, he produces champagne in Koktebel, [and] you can understand his capabilities on television," Interfax quotes Titov as saying.

Titov has headed the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers since 2010.

• Dmitry Kiselev is a co-owner of the winery "Cock t`est belle" in Crimea. In 2015, RBC wrote that it produces up to four thousand bottles a year. For comparison, "Abrau-Durso" sells more than 38 million bottles a year.
