The 20-year-old STR shot his colleagues, eight died. The military unit was engaged in the operation of nuclear ammunition

On October 25, at 18 hours 20 minutes in the village of Gorny, located 65 km from Chita, on the territory of the military unit No. 54160, 20-year-old Soldist Ramil Shamsutdinov shot his colleagues. He shot at the guard aims: in the head and over body armor, which were on the military personnel of the unit of immediate response (PNR). Two officers, two contractors and four soldiers were killed, two more with severe wounds were taken to the hospital.

The Ministry of Defense rapidly spread the information that the tragedy occurred due to Shamsutdinov’s nervous breakdown “amid personal circumstances that are not related to the service”.

Meanwhile, two hours after the tragedy, the operational duty of the military unit No. 31600, Lieutenant Colonel Kakelevich prepared a report in which, having described the details of the incident, he concluded:

"Preliminary reason is an unstable relationship."

The military unit No. 31600 is the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, which is responsible for the country's nuclear support and security. It is this management that military unit No. 54160 subordinates, in which Shamsutdinov and his victims served. This is the repair and technical base (RTB), which operates nuclear ammunition.

The selection of military personnel in such units (both conscripts and contractors) are multi -stage: the best of the best is already selected in the military enlistment office. The same Lieutenant Colonel Kakelevich, before signing the report, raised the personal file of Shamsutdinov, called up from the Tyumen region, and brought the surnames, titles, positions of several officers of the 84th educational-tactical center (deployed in Sergius Posad), who selected Shamsutdinov for the service in the RTB.

The guy in childhood dreamed of becoming an officer. In 2013, a report from the military-patriotic camp was published in the district newspaper, which also gave the words of 14-year-old Ramil: “I am coming to this camp for the fifth year. Everything is always well organized here, still beautiful nature. Over the years, I have acquired many friends from different areas, then I maintain relations with them. Since childhood, I dream of military service, after school I will go to a military school. ”

In 2019, Ramil could not enter the military school - he did not go through the competition. On July 2, he was drafted into the army. And in Transbaikalia, the guy did not face grandfather, no, namely, apparently, with “hazing relations” by officers. There were also witnesses. Former soldier-carrier of military unit No. 54160 Dmitry D. told the Tyumen publication 72.ru:

“I suppose this is connected with the senior lieutenant Pyankov. During my service a few years ago, when we went to guard, he constantly demanded that we buy him something to eat. He constantly humiliated everyone. ”

Danil Pyankov, the platoon commander Shamsutdinov, on the fateful day of October 25 was just the head of the immediate response unit, which included Private Shamsutdinov.

Senior Lieutenant Pyankov and Captain Evseev were the first to be shot by Shamsutdinov. All the others, who was in the guard town, the soldier ordered to "lie down" and finished off single shots. It is amazing that the dead officers either did not see, or did not manage to react to how Shamsutdinov took out a store, who was already in the pier, fastened him to the machine gun and twisted the shutter.

A commission from the Russian Ministry of Defense, headed by Deputy Minister General Andrei Kartapolov, arrived in Transbaikalia. The deputy military prosecutor of the strategic missile forces (Strategic Missile Forces) arrived in the military unit No. 54160.
