According to RBC sources, Boris Banin, a student at the branch of the Lukhovitsky Agro-Industrial College, was detained as a result of a joint operation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. A pistol resembling a Makarov pistol was confiscated from him. A criminal case has been initiated against Banin on the preparation of the murder of two or more people.
Baza reports that Banin planned to attack the college on October 29th. According to the sources of this publication, the student planned to kill eight classmates and a teacher. The list includes those with whom Banin had a conflict. According to Baza, the student was found with another pistol, presumably a traumatic one, and some kind of explosive.
A TASS source in law enforcement agencies said that the detained student “because of the conflict, he planned to attack with weapons the students of the college where he studies himself.”
Baza writes that fellow students found Banin's notes, which dealt with the murder, about a year ago. A friend of the detainee told TASS that she had heard that the student "planned to start shooting." “But I didn’t take it seriously.
