The FSB detained a technical school student in the Moscow region who was planning a mass murder of classmates

Officers of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained an 18-year-old student of the Lukhovitsky Agricultural and Industrial College on suspicion of preparing a mass murder of fellow students. This was reported by RBC and Interfax, citing their own sources. The Baza Telegram channel claims that this is student Boris Banin and he has already been arrested for two months.

The young man was detained on the basis of suspicious correspondence in the messenger, the source said. An object similar to a Makarov pistol was seized from the student, and an examination has now been scheduled to determine whether it is a military weapon.

A criminal case has been opened against Banin under Part 1 of Article 30 (preparation for a crime) and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two or more persons).

According to the Baza telegram channel, Boris Banin had been planning the mass murder for a whole year; he intended to commit the crime on October 29. An example for him was supposedly Kerch college student Vladislav Roslyakov, who shot students and committed suicide.

Banin was found to have a “death notebook” with a list of those he planned to kill, totaling about ten people. The list included classmates with whom Banin had conflicts, as well as a teacher who told the director of the technical school about the strange behavior of the young man.

The young man repeatedly told his friends and teachers that he was going to go to fight in Syria at the first opportunity, and was also interested in watching videos of ISIS executions. At the technical school, he was given the nickname “Terrorist,” which, according to students, Banin really liked, and to confirm it, he regularly publicly stated that one day he would carry out a massacre in class.

Students several times brought petitions to the technical school management with a request to expel Banin, but there was no response to these requests.

On October 17, 2018, a mass murder occurred at the Kerch Polytechnic College: 18-year-old student Vladislav Roslyakov activated an improvised explosive device in the cafeteria, after which he began shooting at those around him with a gun. 18 people died on the spot, later their number rose to 21; about 50 people were injured. Roslyakov's body was found in the college library - he shot himself. Experts noted the general similarity of what happened to the attack on the American Columbine school.

According to investigators, Roslyakov committed the crime because of humiliation from fellow students, because he could not afford to buy expensive clothes. Residents of Kerch do not believe in this version and believe that Roslyakov was a “pawn” and someone was preparing him to become a suicide bomber.
