The criminal case against the Prokazovs for leaving their child in danger at a protest was dropped

The Investigative Committee dropped the criminal case under the article on leaving in danger (Article 125 of the Criminal Code) against the spouses Olga and Dmitry Prokazov, who came to the rally on July 27 in Moscow with a small child. This was reported by Znak.com.

“With a 99% probability, the case was dropped, I’m leaving 1% until I see the resolution with my own eyes,” Znak.com reports the words of the Prokazovs’ lawyer Maxim Pashkov.

The Moscow City Court announced a break in the hearing until November 6.

“We have not yet received this resolution in our hands. If we had it, then today the Moscow City Court would have rejected the prosecutor’s claim for deprivation of parental rights filed against the parents. And so a break was announced,” Alexey Dobrynin, a partner at the Pen & Paper Bar Association, told MBH Media.

• Earlier, the Perovskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office appealed the decision of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow to refuse to deprive Olga and Dmitry Prokazov of parental rights, who came to the rally on July 27 with a small child. According to the prosecutor's office, the couple handed over their son to a third party, which “endangered the boy's health and life, and also caused him physical and moral harm.” Later, the phrase about “physical and moral harm” disappeared from the website of the prosecutor’s office, where the statement was published. The claim was brought in connection with the fact that the Prokazovs handed over the child to their relative Sergei Fomin, who became accused under the article on mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). The Lefortovo District Court rejected the prosecutor's claim against the Prokazovs, but they were given a warning.

• On the same day, the Nikulinsky District Court refused to deprive another couple of parental rights - Peter and Elena Khomsky, who came with their children to the rally on August 3. The Moscow City Court then approved this decision.

• During protests in Moscow on July 27 in support of independent candidates in the Moscow City Duma elections, according to OVD-Info, 1,373 people were detained . At least 265 detainees spent the night in police departments.
