Kaliningrad: criminal cases against the head of "eco -protection" are trying to challenge

In Kaliningrad, the Public Verdict human rights fund in court wants to prove the illegality of the initiation of five criminal cases against the co-chair of the Eco-Protection group, the Kaliningrad ecologist and public figure Alexandra Koroleva due to the refusal to pay fines for the failure to comply with the Law on Foreign Agents. The application was published on the Facebook Fund page.

Human rights activists are sure that criminal cases against the queen were illegally initiated. On the foundation page they write that the bailiffs “knew that there was no money for the“ violation of the law on foreign agents ”on the“ Eco -Protection ”account and could not enter the account, since the bailiffs themselves could not pay for the fines, since it works in“ Eco -Protection ”for free.

At the moment, the money has been collected for all fines, and criminal cases are still not closed.

The Eco Protection organization refuses to recognize itself as a foreign agent and is trying to challenge the decision of the Ministry of Justice in the European Court of Human Rights. Eco -Protection owes more than two million rubles in the form of fines for non -fulfillment of the law on "foreign agents". Due to the refusal to pay fines for the queen, five criminal cases were instituted. In Russia, she faces up to two years of imprisonment.

The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov supported Eco -Protection and said that he himself was ready to pay part of the fines.
