Disabled prisoners in the Murmansk colony complain of inhuman conditions of detention. After the prosecutor’s audit, they were transferred to the worst room. “In early September, under the pretext of repairs, people were transferred to another locker, it is even worse. And besides the terrible state of the room, there are also bunks of two floors, can you imagine what people without legs are on them?”, The emergency quotes as saying.

In unbearable conditions, according to the prisoner, six people are contained. He himself was temporarily transferred to a prison hospital, which is located in a neighboring colony. IK-16 has its own health center, but getting treatment there is problematic due to lack of staff and drugs. Prisoners receive the necessary drugs from relatives.

A few months ago, the prisoners sent a complaint about the lack of medical assistance to the governor of the region Andrei Chibis. As the publication notes, the answer came from those whom the prisoners and complained - from the MSCh -10 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, as well as from the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Republic of Karelia, which the health center obeys. The documents say that with all issues of medical care should be addressed to the healthcare staff. It is also reported that the state of medical unit is equipped, and there are enough drugs.

At the same time, as the "new" notes, according to the Decree of the Government No. 1466 "On the approval of the Rules for the provision of persons detained or serving a sentence of imprisonment, medical care ...", all types of medical care are guaranteed the convict. The FSIN must provide prisoners with all the necessary drugs. Money is allocated for this, and the total budget of the prison department is more than the budget of the Ministry of Health.

Previously, a prosecutor’s check was held in the colony. The department recognized the room with holes in the walls and mold on the ceiling, where people with disabilities lived, unsuitable for maintenance.
