Petersburg: The garden on the Neva finally decided to build up

Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg made the final decision to build a garden on the Neva. This was reported by the head of the Yabloko party faction Boris Vishnevsky. The bill on the deprivation of the status of the security territory of the site with an area of about 3 hectares on the Smolny embankment was adopted in the third reading.

The decision was supported by 38 parliamentarians, nine deputies opposed. The law allows the construction of the so -called judicial quarter on the site of the existing park. The garden on the Neva, which is located on the embankment, is excluded from the list of zones of "green spaces".

Earlier, residents of the Central District held pickets near the building of the Legislative Assembly. According to activists, the garden on the Neva should by no means be built up. They once again stated that they did not agree to compromises and believe that the park should be left alone. They intend to demand the abolition of the bill from the governor Alexander Beglov.

Vishnevsky said he would appeal the decision of the Legislative Assembly in court.
