A retired general of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was detained on suspicion of preparing a murder. He hired a hitman to shoot his daughter-in-law

In the Stavropol Territory, retired Major General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Turivnenko was detained. According to the Investigative Committee, he is suspected of preparing a contract killing.

According to the investigation, Turivnenko decided to organize the murder of the common-law wife of his deceased brother in order to take possession of the property, which was inherited by his nephew.

For the murder, the general attracted a friend, whom he promised to pay a million rubles. An acquaintance turned to law enforcement agencies, after which the murder was staged, and Turivnenko received photographs from the performer as proof of the order. When transferring money, he was detained.

• During the years of work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Turivnenko served as head of the Western Department of Internal Affairs in Transport. In 2010, he was dismissed by decree of President Dmitry Medvedev.
