Notre Dame Cathedral and Easter Island are on the list of endangered landmarks

The World Monuments Fund has released a new version of its biennial list of 25 sites in danger of being lost.

The list included Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, where a major fire broke out in April, the sacred Inca Valley in Peru, which is threatened by plans to build a new airport, and Easter Island, whose sculptures and cave paintings are not being properly maintained due to for administrative problems.

The listed attractions will share $1.6 million from sponsors of the World Monuments Fund.
