Private meetingOn November 16, in the New Jerusalem museum and exhibition complex, the exhibition “Shagal: Between Heaven and Earth”, which will present 239 works of painting and graphics, as well as tapestries stored in museums and private collections of Russia, France and Belarus, will be opened.
The work for the exhibition was provided by the National Center for Art and Culture Georges Pompidu (Paris), Museum of Mark Shagal in Vitebsk, the A.S. State Museum of Fine Arts Pushkin (Moscow), Museum of the History of Jews in Russia (Moscow), National Museum of Mark Shagal in Nice, the New Jerusalem Museum (Istra) and private collections.
“The exhibition of the exhibition is built on two parallel lines - thematic and chronological. Together with the Shagal, the viewer moves through three multidimensional spaces: “earthly life” (painting and graphics of the first quarter of the 20th century), “Travel and bridges” (the work of the second quarter of the 20th century, associated with a trip to the Holy Earth) and “Heavenly Being” (works of the second half of the 20th century), ”the exhibition organizers report .
It is also noted that 22 sketches will be demonstrated in Russia for the first time, as well as existing in a single copy of 105 biblical engravings, painted by the artist by hand and presented by him the second wife Vava Shagal.
The exhibition “Shagal: between Heaven and Earth” in the Museum and Exhibition Complex “New Jerusalem” will last until March 8, 2020 .
