In Elista, the court acquitted Ivan Chucheev and Sanal Ubushiev, participants in a protest against the head of the city administration, Dmitry Trapeznikov. This is reported by the publication "Activatica".
Chucheev and Ubushiev were accused of participating in an uncoordinated event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) on October 1 in front of the Government House. On that day, a prayer service was held for the well-being of Elista, and then Ubushiev and Chucheev expressed their opinion about the new appointee in their city. At the meeting on November 5, the Elista court did not find any elements of an offense in their actions and stopped the proceedings of administrative cases.
- Earlier, the head of the regional branch of the Yabloko party, Batyr Boromangnaev, received 25 hours of compulsory work, and journalist Badme Byurchiev, allegedly for organizing an uncoordinated event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), was fined 20,000 rubles .
- On October 1, in Elista, on the territory of the cultural complex "Pagoda of Seven Days" in front of the Government House, was held a protest against Trapeznikov . The day before, the police warned the activists about the “inadmissibility of violations of the law”, and in social networks the townspeople were invited not to the action, but to the “prayer for the well-being of Elista”.
- At the end of September, at the suggestion of the head of Kalmykia, Batu Khasikov Trapeznikov, the former head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), was appointed head of the Elista administration. After that, several gatherings took place in the city demanding to remove him from office.
