Russia Starts Renting iPhones

The largest Apple technology reseller in Russia, the re:Store chain, together with Forward Leasing, launched an iPhone rental service , Forbes writes . Five flagship models are available for leasing: three new smartphones (iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Max) and two last year's models (iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max).

• For a month of using an iPhone 11 with 64 GB of memory, you will have to pay 3,940 rubles, or more than 47 thousand rubles for 12 months. For comparison, buying the same smartphone in re:Store will cost 59,990 rubles. For renting an iPhone 11 Pro Max with the same memory - 5,950 rubles per month, or more than 71 thousand rubles per year. In the store, such a smartphone costs 99,990 rubles.
• The customer will be able to exchange the iPhone for a new model every year or buy it back at any time. This is not very profitable, Forbes notes: in the store, the iPhone 11 (64 GB) costs 59,990 rubles, and when buying back, the total payment will be no less than 70,796 rubles.
• Last year, Forward Leasing was the first to launch smartphone rentals, then from Samsung. Samsung Galaxy A50 is offered for rent for 1,580 rubles per month, Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ - for 5,490 rubles.
• In the US, due to regional prices and operator binding, leasing is almost twice as cheap: the same iPhone 11 with Verizon costs $30 per month.
