The Office of the Ministry of Justice for Ingushetia filed an application with the Supreme Court of the republic on the liquidation of the Council of Teips of the Ingush people. Meduza was informed about this by the Human Rights Center Memorial.
As follows from the lawsuit (available to the editors), the reason for the statement was that the council did not eliminate the violations found by the Ministry of Justice in February. In May, the Ministry of Justice suspended the activities of the council because of these violations.
Updated . The Supreme Court of Ingushetia has suspended consideration of the lawsuit at the request of a lawyer working with Memorial until the appeals against the decision on the legality of the May inspection of the Ministry of Justice and on the fine for "failure to comply with the legal order in time" are considered.
