Human rights activist Sergei Sharov-Delaunay has died. This was announced by the chairman of Sitting Rus' Olga Romanova.
The cause of Sharov-Delaunay's death was lung cancer.
Sergei Sharov-Delaunay was a restoration artist by profession; he was involved in the restoration and protection of architectural monuments. Sharov-Delaunay became widely known as a human rights activist, participant and organizer of opposition rallies, including the rally on Bolotnaya Square in May 2012.
Sergei Sharov-Delone was the cousin of the famous Soviet writer and dissident Vadim Delaunay.
