The Russian Guard came up with new emblems with naked swords. In the internal troops, swords were scabbard (but with a grenade)

The Russian Guard published a draft departmental order, which will approve new insignia - loop emblems for clothing and for removable epaulets. The emblem for epaulets does not differ from the heraldic sign of the Russian Guard, approved by the presidential decree in 2016: an eagle with naked swords.

This eagle is also present on a round loop emblem - in the center of a round shield, which is also located on top of naked swords.

The new emblem of the Russian Guard will differ from the emblem, which the employees of the department wore when it was internal troops as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Then in the center of the round shield there was a flaming grenada (grenade or cannon shell). The swords under the shield were, like all departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs , hidden in the sheath.

• Internal troops were withdrawn from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and transformed into Rosguard in the spring of 2016. The head of the Russian Guard, President Vladimir Putin appointed the former head of his personal protection Viktor Zolotov.
