The defenders of Shiyes in the Arkhangelsk region were given a notice demanding to remove the tent camp from the station by November 18. A paper without a signature and a seal was brought to the protesters by a dozen police officers, accompanied by employees of a private security company.
They fixed signs around the camp with announcements about the reclamation of the site. They indicate that the camp is allegedly preventing the Moscow State Budgetary Institution "Avtomobilnye Dorogi" from bringing the territory spoiled by construction work to its original form. At the end of the document, it is reported that the camp also prevents the "further implementation of the project."
It should be noted that a de jure decision to build a landfill for Moscow garbage on Shiyes has not yet been made, moreover, President Vladimir Putin publicly guaranteed that the opinion of the local population should be taken into account when making it.
Protests at Shies station have been going on for more than a year. According to the results of independent polls, 98% of the inhabitants of the Arkhangelsk region are against the construction of a landfill.
