“The resulting angle was filled with concrete, which almost immediately began to crumble a little,” says Smirnova.

The water in the river rose due to abnormal precipitation, due to which the authorities even announced the emergency regime in the region. The water hid the concrete part of the embankment, the shore began to wash and began to crumble the soil.

The embankment in Vologda has been reconstructed since 2018. Magistral received 265 million rubles from the federal budget for coastal work. According to the project, the embankment is almost completely concreted.

Locals, together with experts against work. Activists went to meetings at the city hall, held round tables, wrote to the governor, held promotions and rallies . Later, the court in Vologda admitted that the contractor completed the concreting of the embankment not under the project.
