Macron "ours". But this is not enough

French President Emmanuel Macron successfully intercepts in Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump the role of the main destabilizing power of Europe and the destroyer of the Western world order. Last week, Macron gave a program interview to the British weekly The Economist, which blown up Twitter due to the phrase "NATO experiences the death of the brain ." According to the famous French political scientist Bruno Tetre, this is an escalation in the rhetoric of the leader of France, who two weeks ago in a narrow circle only admitted that "in five years NATO would cease to exist." On the eve of the anniversary (on the occasion of the 70th anniversary) of the NATO summit in London on December 3–4, Macron publicly doubts the effectiveness of security guarantees provided by Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty (“I don’t know what this will mean in the future”.

And a week earlier, Macron imposed a veto on the decision of the European Council on the beginning of negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia to join the European Union, which actually solely stopped the EU expansion process that has not stopped over the past 25 years.

The interview of Macron The Economist should be considered together with a programmatic performance at a meeting of the French ambassadors on August 27 as the most holistic presentation of its strategic vision of the geopolitical role of Europe, France and, oddly enough, Russia in the modern world.
