The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow extended the arrest of the defendant in the “Moscow case” Nikita Chirtsov until April 30, 2020. This was reported by the Arresters 212 telegram channel.
Only journalists and relatives were allowed into the courtroom on November 12; the rest of the audience watched the broadcast of the hearing in another room. The prosecutor petitioned to extend the arrest, lawyer Alexander Borkov – to change the preventive measure to house arrest.
Nikita Chirtsov is accused of using violence not dangerous to health against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he deliberately pushed policeman Yuri Mikhailenok in the chest with both hands at the rally on July 27.
The next hearing in the case of Nikita Chirtsov was scheduled for December 5.
15:39 The victim, Yuri Mikhalenok, in an interview leaving the court , noted that he does not support the extension of Chirtsov’s arrest and believes that reconciliation of the parties is necessary. Nikita Chirtsov’s lawyer said that he would contact Mikhailenko: the court “has the right to pronounce a guilty verdict even if the parties wish for reconciliation, but this is a significant reason for filing an appeal.”
