A documentary about Lil Pip is released - about his incredible talent, closest environment and sudden death

On November 21, the documentary “All for All” about the life of Lil Pip (Gustav Elijah Ar), a guy from Long Island, who could become the brightest rock star of our time, but two years ago, died of random overdose of Xanax and fentanyl. In the film, the story of Gustav is told by his beloved grandfather, mother, co -authors, friends, acquaintances and fans. It seems that Pip himself did not have time to comprehend himself and his work, nor to understand what is happening in his life. At the request of Medusa, the journalist and host of the telegram channel “Albums on Fridays” Pavel Borisov tells why everyone should watch this film and figure out who Pip was actually.

“Three thousand people in Russia, they sing every word. Hedliner. Without warming up. Madness ”,-so in the film one of the friends Lil Pip recalls his Moscow concert in May 2017. “I love Lil Pipa, his music is very interesting and inspires me to work,” says Russian fan of Pipa Rose Ushaka. Gustav (so Pipa’s name is actually) and put on such a concert, only his hat is from the collection of designer Goshi Rubchinsky.

It all started with loneliness. A lanky teenager who first called himself on the Internet “Trap Goose” (abbreviated from Gustav), felt like a stranger in his hometown and had a heavily experienced childhood without a father who left his family. At the school, Gustav was a typical loser, a snapper who was not too interested in study, beat tattoos and smoked grass; Decent children with such are asked not to communicate. On the Internet, Pip found like-minded people, like him, passionate about the new underground hip-hop, which then began to be called the SoundCloudrap . After school, he moved to new friends in Los Angeles, lived either where he had to, or in a squat, where a desperate party never stopped.

Gustav was fond of music in childhood, but he could not be called a serious musician; He himself said that he simply understands how best to say words into the microphone. He did not care how and in what conditions to compose music, he recorded the best tracks on a cheap microphone for samples with guitar busts of his favorite emo groups. Regardless of the conditions, his voice sounded as it seemed correct to him: doomedly, extremely emotionally, on the verge of a breakdown-it was impossible to confuse his vocals with some other. In the records that came out after the death of the musician, this signature handwriting disappears.

The pip career is several dozen songs released semi -legal (at first he did not think about copyright on samples, so there were no talk of official releases), the same number of concerts in the USA and Europe, one lifetime album and heels of clips made literally on the knee. From that very concert in Moscow, after which Pip Lil and his team realized that everything was serious, to the absurd death of the musician, the causes of which “everything for all” has been told in sufficient detail, only six months have passed. During these six months, he managed to break with old friends, move to London, start a modeling career, record a double album, return to the previous company and perish in an endless drug test. Other musicians need this for ten years, but the essence of Lil Pipa, who sincerely wanted to become - and became - Kurt Cobine of his generation, dictated the accelerated rewinding regime.

The film “Everything for All” tells the biography of Gustav Ara from the first days of life to the last and allows you to figure out who he really was. First of all, if we talk about music, a very talented melodist who can read four lines of not the most intricate, but sad text over any bit in any condition. And then these listener then I can’t throw it out of my head.

Such things are born only naturally, according to a hunch. Musicians, more distinctive than Gustav, have not been in pop music for a long time. He tried to live without looking back and tried according to the covenants of his grandfather (their correspondence is an important part of the film) to find himself and engage in what brings him real pleasure. He even filled tattoos on his face in order to cut off all ways to retreat: you will not go to the bank with such an appearance and you won’t become a lawyer. “All for everyone” tries not to focus on the scandalous life Lil Pip and analyzes his musical talent in detail, which still seems underestimated.

An important part of the work was mental pain, which Pip drowned with drugs and pills. “I am a productive handkerchief,” Pip said about himself and asked the audience in no case to follow his example. He did not glorify drugs, but only stated that they had long become part of his life along with the popular Ksanax tranquilizer, with the help of which he is clearly not in doses prescribed by a doctor - he fought with anxiety. Around the young musician, as often happens, incomprehensible people curled up to whom he could not refuse anything, and from whom he escaped in the summer of 2017 to the UK, but again became close to them during the last American tour, during which he died .

This is not this remembered from the film, not gloomy drugs, on which people, including Pipa, were lying around everywhere, and his kind smile and sincere desire to help everyone around. “I just want to be everyone for everyone. I want too much from people, and then I do not want anything from them. Do you understand me? I do not give people to help me, but I need help. Not when I'm on tablets, this is only temporary, only one day. Maybe I will not die young and will be happy? What is happiness? I am happy for ten seconds, and then all. I am already tired of this, ”Pip wrote on his Instagram the day before his death. “Everything for all” finally allows us to understand what he was talking about.
