Kostroma authorities did not approve the rally, citing regional legislation

The mayor's office of Kostroma did not agree on a rally on the main square of the city, citing the regional law on mass events as the reason for the refusal. This is reported by the publication "7 × 7".

The organizers of the action in the notification referred to the recent decision of the Constitutional Court, which forbade the authorities of Syktyvkar "to justify themselves by formal references" to regional legislation when refusing to approve the action on the main square of the city.

However, the head of the administration of Kostroma, Alexei Smirnov, pointed to the regional law, according to which the holding of public events on the main - Susaninskaya - square is prohibited.

The organizer of the action Viktor Epifanov intends to appeal against the decision of the mayor's office in court. The purpose of the action was to be "the expression of the opinion of citizens in connection with the need for change, a change in the system of power."
