The Basmanny District Court limited the term for familiarization with the materials of the case of Alexander Shestun, the former head of the Serpukhov District, until November 29 inclusive. It is reported by MBH Media.
The court asked the investigation to limit the time, arguing that Shestun and his lawyers were allegedly dragging out time. Familiarization with the case materials began on August 15, and during this time, according to the investigation, the accused managed to get acquainted with only 10 volumes out of 161.
The defense asked to postpone the meeting, since Shestun himself was not taken to court - the doctors did not release him from the pre-trial detention center, fearing a deterioration in his health. The lawyers noted that their client gets acquainted with the case because of the opportunities given to him by the doctors.
