Finnish footballers made it to the finals of the European Championship for the first time

The Finnish national football team defeated Liechtenstein 3-0 in their home match in the 2020 European Championship qualifiers and reached the final stage of the competition.

Jasse Tuominen (21') and Teemu Pukki (6', 75') scored goals in Helsinki. One round before the end of qualification, the Finnish team (18 points) guaranteed itself second place in Group J and participation in the decisive stage of the European Championship.

The Swedish team defeated the Romanian team in Bucharest - 2:0. Marcus Berg (18') and Robin Quaison (34') scored for the visitors. Sweden, having scored 18 points, secured second place in the Group F standings and participation in the final stage of Euro 2020.

Thus, the Finns and Swedes joined the teams of Russia, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Spain and Ukraine, Turkey, France, England and the Czech Republic that previously qualified for Euro 2020.

The European Championship in honor of the 60th anniversary of the tournament will be held in 12 European cities, including St. Petersburg.
