Krasnodar human rights activist was fined for reposting a video of poetry reading

In Krasnodar, a world court fined human rights activist Yulia Fedotova 5,000 rubles under the article on the activities of an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for reposting a video with poetry reading. This is reported by Free Media.

The case against Fedotova was opened because of a video in which the poet Maxim Drozdov reads his poem "The Heretic" at the poetry reading "Open Cabbage", organized by the local branch of Open Russia. The violation, according to investigators, was in the logo of the Open Russia organization which was deemed "undesirable". The event itself was not of a political nature. Poet Yevgeny Vitishko, for example, read poems about love.

In addition, in May, the court dismissed the case against Drozdov himself for publishing the same video due to the statute of limitations.
