In Tver, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the death of a pediatrician who was refused treatment in his own hospital

The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Tver Region opened a criminal case after the death of 46-year-old pediatrician of city hospital No. 6 Nina Azizova, who was not treated by her colleagues, writes MBKH Media with reference to the lawyer of the doctor’s daughter, Viktor Lurie. According to the investigation, on the evening of October 30, Azizova called an ambulance, and she was hospitalized at the hospital where she works. After being examined by doctors, the woman was allowed to go home, according to the Investigative Committee’s website. “MBH Media” writes that they did not examine the woman, and when her daughter arrived and asked the cardiologist to help, she replied: “I don’t know what’s wrong with your mother.”

The doctor was refused hospitalization and advised to drink the anti-allergy drug Suprastin, the publication reports. On the way home, the woman’s condition worsened so much that she was unable to walk to the apartment on her own. They called an ambulance for her again, but the doctors did not take her to the hospital, prescribed Glycine and left, reports MBKh Media. The next morning, Azizova’s relatives called an ambulance again. By the time doctors arrived, the woman had already died from “acute heart disease.”

A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (causing death by negligence due to improper performance of one’s professional duties). Lawyer Lurie is confident that cardiologist Mikhail Strygin, neurologist Alla Polyanskaya and the second ambulance team should be held accountable.
