A resident of the Smolensk region was fined for the video “Longing for Stalin”

The Desnogorsk City Court of the Smolensk Region fined local resident Roman Kosykh a thousand rubles for the video “Yuri Mukhin. Longing for Stalin." Information about this was published in the court file, and drew the publication “7x7” attention to the decision .

The court’s website states that the video on Kosykh’s VKontakte page was found by an employee of the regional department of the FSB during “operational search activities.” The video was declared extremist back in August 2010.

The Kosykh police drew up a report under Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code (production and distribution of extremist materials). He fully admitted his guilt.

In 2017, publicist and historian Yuri Mukhin was sentenced to four years probation in the IGPR “ZOV” case. According to investigators, he and his associates, under the guise of an initiative group to hold a referendum “For Responsible Power,” continued the activities of the banned “Army of the People’s Will.”

In 2009, by a court decision, the publication of the newspaper “Duel” was suspended; Mukhin worked there as editor-in-chief. Several articles in the newspaper were recognized as extremist, and the publicist was sentenced to two years probation, accused of calls for extremism (Article 280 of the Criminal Code).
