
Dmitry Shlyakhtin handed over to the Presidium of the All -Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) an application for departure from the post of president of the organization.
On Saturday in Moscow, a meeting of the Presidium of WFLA is taking place. Shlyakhtin filed a resignation of accusations put forward against him and four more employees of the VFL for interfering in the investigation in the Russian Jumper Jumping Danil Lysenko, who was temporarily suspended from participation in competitions due to repeated violation of the accessibility rules.

“Now I have handed the presidium to resignation of the retirement,” says the words of Shlyakhtin TASS . “The Presidium will now elect the first vice president who will act as the President of the WFLA. The post of temporary head of the organization was claimed by three VFLA vice president: head coach of the Russian national team Yuri Borzakovsky, head of the athletics Federation of St. Petersburg, sports director of VFLA Yulia Tarasenko and Marina Kuptsova. Shlyakhtin headed WFLA in January 2016. Its goal was to restore VFLA membership in the International Association of Athletics (World Athletics, the former name - IAAF), which was suspended in November 2015 in connection with the largest doping scandal in the history of organization. On Saturday, the World Athletics Council, relying on the latest events, decided to suspend the process of recovery of WFLA. Moreover, WFLA can now threaten a complete exception to the World Athletics.
