According to the TASS source in the regional authorities, Karich is not in serious condition.

The accident occurred in the Cheremkhovsky district. Karich lost control. The media wrote that the mayor of Tulun was taken to the hospital with a suspicion of a heart attack, but the head of the city of Cheremkhovo Vadim Semenov said that this was not confirmed. "The condition is normal, he is in the hospital, a full examination was carried out," said Semenov. According to Karikh, he feels normally.

52-year-old Yuri Karikh has been led by Tulun since 2010. In the September election, he retained the post, gaining 43% of votes.

Residents of the city complained that they did not pay the initial payment of 10 thousand rubles. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaliy Mutko, who heads the Government Commission for the elimination of the consequences of floods in the Irkutsk region, criticized the work of the region’s authorities for red tape with the consideration of residents' appeals. According to ONF, 90% of the surveyed victims announced problems with the payment of compensation. Almost 70% said that they still do not know where to get help, restore documents and get advice.
