In the first match, Andrey Rublev beat Vasek Pospisil with a score of 6:4, 6:4. In the second game, Karen Khachanov lost to Canadian Denis Shapovalov - 4:6, 6:4, 4:6. In the decisive doubles match, Khachanov and Rublev lost to Shapovalov and Pospisil - 3:6, 6:3, 6:7.
The Canadian national team reached the Davis Cup final for the first time in history; before that, the team’s best achievement was reaching the semifinals (1913, 2013, 2019). In the final of the tournament on Sunday, Canada will play the winner of the Spain-Great Britain match later on Saturday.
