The Russian team made a victorious start at the World Beach Soccer Championship

In Paraguay, the Russian beach soccer team beat the Senegal team with a score of 8:7 in the first round of the group stage of the World Cup.

In our team, goals were scored by Boris Nikonorov (4, 34), Fyodor Zemskov (8, 31, 32) and Arthur Fernandez (23, 34), another goal was scored by Senegalese Sahere Thion View (1). Lansana Diassi (5, 17), Babacar Fall (15, 33), Raul Mendy (26) and Mamour Dianne (29, 34) scored against the opponents.

The national teams of Russia and Senegal play in Group C together with the teams of Belarus and the UAE, the meeting of which ended with a score of 5:1 in favor of our geographical neighbors.

The Russian team will play against the UAE team in the next match, the meeting will take place on Sunday.

The World Beach Soccer Championship has been held since 1995, the tournament is held every two years. At the 2019 world championship, 16 teams are participating, divided into four groups. The teams that take the first two places in the quartet advance to the playoffs.

The record for the most victories at the World Championships belongs to the Brazilian team, which has won 14 times, and is also the current winner of the tournament. The Russian team won victories at the world championships twice (2011, 2013). The competition in Paraguay will end on December 1st.
