The Delfi tanker under the Moldavian flag defeated the coast of Odessa, as a result of the concentration of oil products in the water exceeded the norm by 157 times, said on Facebook , the acting Head of the State Expulsum of Ukraine Egor Firsov. Subsequently, the tanker sat fanciful in the area of ​​the Dolphin beach, overturning on the side. An oily liquid began to flow from the hole in the case.

The rescue operation was complicated by the storm, as well as the refusal of the captain of the tanker to leave the ship. According to the captain of the Odessa port, Kirill Sukhoi, people who pretend to be representatives of the shipowner forbade the crew to take any actions because of their high cost.

The ship's team consisted of three people - captain, senior mechanic and sailor. In February 2018, the tanker that had not been repaired since Soviet times nearly sank in the Romanian territorial waters due to a leak in the machine department.

The sources of the "Duma" in law enforcement agencies suggested that Delfi stood for six months on a joke in neutral waters for a reason, but was involved in a smuggling transshipment of oil products. At night, other tankers approached the ship, pumping oil products to its container, which were subsequently transported in small batches on the shore on boats, barcas and other similar boats.

DELFI is mentioned in the case file of illegal import of oil products to Ukraine. They were issued for the products of the Odessa oil refinery, which belonged to businessman Sergei Kurchenko, who is called the "wallet" of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Some of the oil products subsequently transferred abroad through Izmail and the Romanian Tulch, and some were sold in Ukraine. The scheme involved many offshore companies and sea vessels.
