Volunteer of the Sobol headquarters Alexey Minyailo demanded one and a half million rubles in compensation for persecution in “case 212”

Aleksey Minyailo, an entrepreneur and volunteer of Lyubov Sobol’s headquarters, who was accused of participating in “mass riots” at a rally on July 27, filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Finance for one and a half million rubles in the Tverskoy Court for illegal criminal prosecution. A copy of the statement was published by the head of the international human rights group "Agora" Pavel Chikov.

This is the first lawsuit for rehabilitation from a participant in the Moscow protests who was under investigation, Chikov notes. Minyailo's defense insisted that on the day of the rally he did not have time to take part in it: after the arrest of Sobol, with whom they were on a hunger strike together, he went to the police station to pick her up. He was detained in the evening as soon as he left their signature collection center on Rozhdestvensky Boulevard.

In early September, charges were also dropped from four more defendants: Daniil Konon, Sergei Abanichev, Vladislav Barabanov and Valery Kostenok. HSE student Yegor Zhukov was then cleared of charges of "mass riots", but was immediately charged with a new case - about calls to overthrow the government on a YouTube blog. Despite the public outcry around the real term for actor Pavel Ustinov, they did not cancel his sentence, replacing it with a suspended one.

After that, media interlocutors in the investigation team claimed that “there would be no more indulgence for the defendants in the case,” and several more groups of new defendants appeared in the “Moscow case”: Vladimir Yemelyanov was accused of grabbing a National Guard officer by the vest on July 27 and “pulling on himself”, MAI student Andrey Barshay - that he allegedly jumped at a policeman from a running start, and three more - Yegor Lesnykh, Maxim Martintsov and Alexander Mylnikov - that they threw an riot policeman onto the sidewalk.

In mid-November, the Investigative Committee opened several criminal cases due to comments on social networks about the judge of the Tverskoy Court Alexei Krivoruchko, who passed the first sentence on actor Pavel Ustinov. A resident of Udmurtia was taken to Moscow and arrested for the words “burn him” under the news on VKontakte, and a Twitter user from the Moscow region for the words “judge, go look around, you will die soon” (his friend was released on bail because of the same tweet ).
