The Perm mayor's office refused to coordinate the rally of the Alliance of Doctors "For Decent Medicine", which health workers wanted to hold on November 30th. The administration rejected all three city sites proposed by doctors.
“A public event is planned to be held at the place of the rally you declared, the notification of which was submitted earlier,” the Perm administration said in a response. Officials suggested holding a rally on the outskirts of the city.
Anastasia Tarabrina, head of the regional Alliance of Doctors, said that the event in Perm would take place in a form that did not require approval from the authorities. According to her, it will be a single picket or a series of single pickets in the city center, near the legislative assembly.
“We plan to voice the problematic topics of medicine in the region: the lack of doctors, low wages for doctors, the reduction of beds in hospitals, the merger of medical institutions as part of the optimization. In Chaikovsky [Perm Territory], for example, they also did not agree on a rally. There, both doctors and patients oppose the merger of hospitals. I hope Tchaikovsky will join us with solo pickets,” said Anastasia Tarabrina.
Recall that employees of several medical institutions have been on strike in the Perm Territory since the beginning of September. They demand higher wages and an end to the practice of overtime.
