Babaevo: City rescuers were evicted from the building of the Ministry of Emergencies

In Babaevo of the Vologda region, the city detachment of the emergency rescue service was left without a premises. It's all about the bureaucracy: rescuers who are subordinate to the city administration were deployed in the building on Svoboda Street, 1, owned by the Ministry of Emergencies. The press service of the department explained that the room is used in an inappropriate way.

The "emergency rescue service" of Babaevo was created in 2014 on the basis of the previously existing detachment of the regional emergency rescue service. Even earlier, it was included in the structure of the Ministry of Emergencies.

- In this building on Freedom Street we have always been. But it so happened that now it is illegal, despite the fact that we still solve general problems: it is the liquidation of emergencies, search and rescue work, emergency rescue work. Yes, we were previously warned that we would have to leave the building, but no one thought that so fast, ”Vadim Shisterov, the head of the emergency rescue service, comments on the situation.

According to him, the service employees asked the Ministry of Emergencies to be left in the building in return for utility services. However, the department refused them. On November 22, a detachment of city rescuers moved out of the premises on Svoboda Street.

- The guys are on duty at home, the equipment was transported to their garages. Naturally, in such conditions it will be much more difficult to respond promptly to calls, ”said Alexei Luchinsky, head of the emergency rescue service of the region.

Officials of the city administration allocated only a garage to Babaevsky rescuers for official vehicles. According to Shisterov, there is not enough space there, so the employees transported some of the equipment to personal garages. Rescuers are now working from home. The chief coordinates their actions by phone.
