“You know, I'm a happy person,” says Sergey Egorovich, clutching the burnt left with his right hand. - Tencing. When he served in the army, he fell ill with meningitis. They did not immediately realize that it was serious when I was taken to the hospital, I already touched my leg. I have been treated for a long time in different hospitals. And the doctor told me that I am tenacious, that they mostly die from meningitis. ”

Sergei Dementiev worked all his life as a driver. He began a tractor driver, then for a long time carried prisoners to construction and field work. He tells that he could not “carry convicts”, because there was practically no weekend, the work began early in the morning, and ended late in the evening - to bring them back from work was also responsible. However, it was the prisoners who delivered him from this work. Once on the way back, they swayed a van, and the car fell over. No one ran away or suffered, but they removed from the work of Sergei.

He settled down a driver at a cast-iron foundry and with pleasure transported cargo in the regions. He married, a daughter was born. Everything was fine, but here this fuel tank.

“When I was almost killed by the explosion, the doctors also said that I was tenacious,” continues Sergey Egorovich. “And it is true, many of my peers got sick, but I still live.”

He spent several months in the hospital: "painkillers and sleeping pills, painkillers and sleeping pills, that's all that I had there." Sergey lost his ear, eyebrows, hair and partially a century - the right eye and today does not close to the end. On his face, head and hand he transplanted his skin from the inside of the hips. He returned home with another person.

Sergei Egorovich gave the third group of disability. The boss, shaking his burnt hand after returning from the hospital, said: "I will not give you, Yegorych." The word held back - Sergey continued to twist the steering wheel, for the past eight years at the factory he worked as a driver on an ambulance - the plant had his own first -aid post.

“Somehow my wife told me:“ I won’t wash you, you are a burner! ” - recalls Dementiev. - And I said: “Well, okay, I will do everything myself, develop my hand. So I became lonely with my wife. I didn’t live, but existed. And then she went to another, and I was alone.”

"NOT AND EVERY EASY"

Now Sergey Egorovich is 72 years old. Lives alone in an old wooden house, of amenities - only gas. He moves around this house with difficulty, and telling about himself, clings to the sofa and almost does not look into his eyes. He speaks quietly, inconsistently, reviving only when he recalls the exploding tank. Then he raises his guilty gaze and strokes the damaged scalp with his hand, as if burned right now. He has severe headaches with whom local doctors can do nothing.

Sergei Egorovich’s pension is 15 thousand rubles, but he often does not have money for food and medicine.

In the village, you can live modestly for such an amount, but Sergey Egorovich does not live like that - the wife of Antonin, although she went to another, but did not divorce, and also left her husband cows: there was nowhere to keep them in another house. Every morning and evening she comes to feed the cattle, drive out into the street and drive back. But Sergey Egorovich buys compound and cut off to the cows - most of his pensions are spent. It remains only to pay for gas, light and a little for products. In return, only once last year after the slaughter he fell “a little Liver”. But Sergey Egorovich cannot feed the cows - he says, it’s a pity for cattle. “Well, what to do? I have such a character, I'm not angry evil ” - that’s the whole answer.

There is no money

But there is often nothing to Sergey Yegorovich himself, says his neighbor Valentina Nikolaevna. It happens that he will come, lower his head and say that there is no money even for bread, asks for loan. Valentina Nikolaevna always helps out, grandfather gives his debts regularly.

“After an accident, it has changed a lot,” continues Valentina Nikolaevna. - There was such a cheerful good man. And he became so twitching, so crushed ... his pressure rides, he is sick. Somehow he came to me to measure, he has 140 by 80 and a frantic pulse. I say: “Your heart beats like a hare! You would call an ambulance, they will write medicines to you!” And he: “How will I call an ambulance if I don’t have money for medicines?” ”

I buy cereals from food, sometimes lard. Salo, although very expensive, but I love him. I’ll remove it in the freezer, sometimes I get it, cut off small pieces and overcift ... ”

From the relatives of Sergei Yegorovich there were two brothers and sister, everyone lives their lives in different cities. And the daughter, who occasionally visits him. But Sergey Egorovich does not want to ask her: “She has her own company, a sewing factory. But where can she help her? She is being built ... It's a shame to take money from her. ”
