Alexandra Kalinin was lowered from the courtroom

The Gryazinsky City Court of the Lipetsk Region sentenced to the year the leader of the Christian State organization Alexander Kalinin , who was accused of pressure on cinemas and an attempt to prevent the film “Matilda”. The leader of the “Christian state” was held under the articles “coercion to make a transaction or to refuse to do it” and “exciting hatred or enmity”. According to the publication, the accused was under the subscription about the lower room, but he was credited with the deadline when he was in custody.

Kalinin and his organization gained fame after they sent letters to the directors of cinemas with demands to refuse the rental of the film "Matilda" directed by Alexei Teacher. In it, they wrote that any banner or poster of the picture will be considered as "the desire to humiliate the saints of the Orthodox Church."

The film by Alexei Matilda’s teacher was released in October 2017 and tells the story of the ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya, into which the future emperor Nicholas II was in love. Even before the release, the picture was caused by a strong public resonance due to the discontent of some Orthodox organizations with the image of the emperor.
