In Sochi, the police will check reports that investigator Maria Klochkova was raped by a colleague before committing suicide. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnodar Territory.

In the “Police Ombudsman” public page on VKontakte, Anna Klochkova, who introduced herself as the sister of the deceased girl, said that Maria was raped by the detective. According to her, the victim did not write a statement because she did not want anyone to know about this story. The girl perceived the incident as a shame for the family.

“Her boss Khvostov was aware of this situation and promised to help us transfer her home to another city. She was just a child at heart. She was crippled and driven to suicide,” said Anna Klochkova.

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs have been sent to Sochi to help conduct an investigation into the suicide of the investigator. Based on its results, the guilty officials will be held accountable, according to the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnodar Territory.

The suicide of an investigator from the Khostinsky police department became known on November 23. Maria Klochkova graduated from the University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs this year and recently began taking shifts. According to eyewitnesses, at first Klochkova was often seen in the company of other investigators, but over time she began to appear alone and behaved withdrawn. The girl could have shot herself because of a conflict at work; she did not leave a suicide note.

On October 30, 2018, in Ufa, according to investigators, in the building of the migration department of the Department of Internal Affairs in the Ufa region, three police officers attacked a 23-year-old investigator, beat her and raped her in turn. All three were fired from the police and arrested the next day. Later, the investigator was also fired because she drank at work.

In February 2019, former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Yakutia, head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolai Mamchur was sentenced to five years in prison for sexual violence against a subordinate. In April 2016, while intoxicated in his office, he called an employee who was on duty and tried to rape her. The woman was able to fight back, but he attacked again and committed “sexual assault.”
