Two Club Brugge players were sent off for celebrating a goal in the Champions League

Two Belgian Brugge players were sent off for celebrating a goal too emotionally against Turkish Galatasaray (1:1) in the away match of the 5th round of the Champions League group stage.

The Belgians escaped defeat in the 92nd minute when Senegalese midfielder Crepin Diatta hit the Istanbul goal from a pass from defender Clinton Mata.

After scoring the goal, Diatta took off his T-shirt, which is prohibited by the rules, and Mata broke the corner flag to celebrate.

After this episode, the main referee of the match, Ivan Kruzljak, showed the players a yellow card, who became their second in this game. As a result, both players - the author of the goal and the assist - were sent off the field.

Brugge, which remained in the minority, eventually managed to maintain a draw and is in third place in Group A with three points. Galatasaray is last with two points. PSG and Real Madrid have already secured their places in the playoffs from this quartet.
