The Center for Support for Student Initiatives of the Higher School of Foreign Affairs deprived of DOXA magazine status of a student organization due to reputation damage to the university. MBH Media talked with representatives of the leadership of the university and the magazine itself in order to understand the reasons for the decision.
The reason for depriving the status was a complaint of the rector of the Russian State Social University Natalia Pochinok to an article in the magazine. There, with reference to other media, it was told that the late husband of the repairs tried threats to receive the position of rector of the Russian State Service, and also associated his beating with this. In addition, DOXA spoke about the “Fake Dissertations Factory” to the Russian State Service forces, as well as the diplomas for the money, which was made by Russia, including “Russia 1”. The article was released three days before the elections to the Moscow City Duma, where it ran for the repair. She in her district lost to an apple candidate Makim Kruglov.
Advisor to the rector of the Higher School of Economics Yaroslav Kuzminov Oleg Solodukhin told MBH Media that the repair was written to Kuzminov, who sent him to the Center for Student Initiatives. He appealed to the Student Initiative Support Fund with a request to give his recommendation. With the consent of the Council of the Foundation, the Center decided to exclude the magazine from the list.
The reason for the decision-in the infliction of reputation damage to the university, said Solodukhin: “What is the right to the student organization of the Higher School of Sciences to write something about other universities? It is simply unacceptable, violation of any decency rules. ”
In addition, the text about the repair did not correspond to the principles of evidence, he believes: “It is acceptable when they write about ourselves. But when they make their judgments, these judgments must correspond to the values of the HSE: academically impartial, justified. Or DOXA is a student organization of the “tower”, and she writes about the “tower”, or she is something else. ”
Students are afraid that after that other student organizations will suffer, MBH Media told DOXA MBH Armen Araman.
“This precedent is very important for us, since there are other media in the“ tower ”. Many of them are not very different from us in the agenda, although we have a wider coverage. For example, The Vyshka agenda is not very different, ”said Aramian. - The “tower” says that there is no place close to politics at the university. All she does not like is called politics. ”
The magazine can continue its work, but loses the support of the university.
“We lose any resource support of the“ tower ”: we cannot book audiences, we cannot claim financing, we cannot use the equipment that we were provided and which we received on a competitive basis, and many of these things,” he said.
Aramyan believes that the real reason for the exclusion of the magazine from the list is the support of the defendant of the Moscow business Yegor Zhukov: “The most common version is that someone puts pressure on the tower in connection with our activity. The same reason was the basis for the abolition of our event at the bottom of the “tower” at the end of August. ”
